Taylor Swift has signed on to play legendary folk singer Joni Mitchell in upcoming movie Girls Like Us!
It was first reporated that Swift was up for the part in April, however she wasn’t officially offered the part until recently.
Taylor tried her hand at acting during the dramedy Valentines Day, where she played a love sick high school student who couldn’t keep her hands off of her football star boyfriend, Taylor Lautner. This time she is taking on a more serious role of one of musics most iconic women.
Girls Like Us will feature a look inside the life and career of Joni Mitchell, along with fellow singers, Carly Simon and Carole King.
As of now, they haven’t cast the other leading roles, but we hear Alison Pill, Olivia Thirby, Ari Graynor and Zoe Kazan will test for the role of King.
