Bruno Mars smashed the stage on Sunday evening, with a high energy performance of a few of his biggest hits! He turned out to be the star of the day after a very boring game between the Seattle SeaHawks and the Denver Broncos. The SeaHawks smashed the Bronco’s with a ridiculous defeat of 43-8…one of the worst games in Superbowl history! But, Bruno Mars definitely delivered! In a gold lamay jacket, he danced and belted out ‘Locked out of Heaven,’ and Treasure,’ all before serenading us with a beautiful rendition of my favorite song, ‘Just the Way You Are.’ He allowed soldiers that are away from their families to send a special message to their loved ones, before the song began. Very classy. (Scroll Down for the Performance)
Mars also payed homage to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, by asking them to perform their biggest hit, ‘Give It Away Now.’ He rocked out with the band, that performed with no shirts on in 30 degree weather! Overall, Bruno’s performance was transcendent of one of the greats. You couldn’t helped being reminded of James Brown, Jackie Wilson and Earth Wind and Fire!
Congratulations to the Seahawks! Their MVP was Malcolm Smith who is one of 3 defensive players to ever be MVP of the Superbowl. The young man ws a 7th round pick who played under Pete Carol while he was at USC.
It was another victory for the underdogs. People wrote Pete Carol off as ‘just a college coach,’ but now he is one of the few coaches in history to have won both college championships and an NFL championship. And the quarterback, Russell Wilson was also overlooked because of his small size. Malcolm, Pete and Russell are all standing tall today. Congratulations!
