Steve Harvey is not only a King Of Comedy, syndicated radio host, actor, motivational speaker, author, movie and television producer, but now he also has a successful talk show. But, things were not always that way. Like most of us, who follow our dreams, the road to success is VERY difficult and you have to endure more pitfalls than the average person could stomach. But, every now and then, someone along that path opens their heart and selflessly lends a hand to help you. That is what happened to Steve Harvey and that is probably one of the main reasons he gives back so selflessly today.
Steve Harvey celebrated his 56th birthday yesterday and the producers of his daytime talk show decided to surprise him with a special phone call. On the line was a man that wanted to wish him a happy birthday and he said to Steve, “I just have one question, do you still love me, baby?” Immediately, Steve burst into tears.
Steve later explained:
I was 26 years old, struggling. I didn’t have nothing and these people owned a furniture store in Cleveland. They took me in and gave me a contract with my little carpet cleaning company. When I became a comedian at 27, I didn’t have money to travel. They gave me an account at their travel agency and I ran up a bill that was $11,000 just traveling and try to make it. Those people right there, they helped me out!
