He may have been killed off of the second season of the A&E drama ‘Breakout Kings’, but as they say; when one door closes, another one opens. Laz Alonso will be returning to your TV screens very soon as an NYPD detective alongside Meagan Good in a new NBC drama pilot titled, ‘Notorious‘. It will be the first time the network has cast two Black actors in a lead since the short-lived drama ‘Undercovers’ with Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. We reported last week about Meagan Goods new show, but this is a pleasant suprise. It has been a great pilot season for black actors with Meagon, Laz, Cuba Gooding Jr. , Kerry Washington and Gabrielle Union all getting their own show on major networks! Ya’ll better work! Meanwhile, Laz is looking all types of sexy on the cover of Heed Magazine’s Spring Issue. Inside the publication, which calls itself the ‘voice of an emerging culture’, he talks about his Howard University and Wall Street past and how things changed once he hit the big screen. Happy for you Laz!
