Sean “Jay-Z” Carter had one of the best moments of his life this weekend, when he officially opened the new home of the Brooklyn Nets (no longer New Jersey Nets), called the Barclay Center. Jay is a part owner of the team and he helped to change the name of the team, and design the beautiful new arena. He celebrated the best way he knows how, by performing 8 shows to a sold-out arena! The first of the 8 shows were packed with celebrities such as Carmelo and La La Anthony, Pharell, Victor Cruz, J. Cole, John Legend, Dave Chapelle and of course Beyonce to name a few. He even suprised fans with a Biggie Smalls Hologram!
In a house packed with 20,000+ folks, Hov gave a memorable concert as he helped the Barclays Center–the arena that he helped executives and developers bring together in his hometown–make its official public debut. Notorious B.I.G would’ve been proud.
Congratulations to Jay and Brooklyn!
