Love and Hip Hop Hollywood celebrated it’s upcoming premiere this week at the world famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and of course we were on the invite list! The young and fabulous stars of Mona Scott Young’s newest editions to the franchise, were out in full effect. I had the opportunity to preview the show and sit down with the cast for some one on one interviews….but more about that next week! For now, I can tell you that this is certainly not the same show we’ve seen from the New York and Atlanta cast. The biggest difference is of course, AGE!
Souljaboy was only 23 years old, when the series began shooting and all of the cast members are in their 20’s or early 30’s. And believe me….age makes a huge difference in maturity, personality and the problems that will be displayed this season. Soulja aka Dre is allowing his on-again off again girlfriend of the past 6 years to move in with him. Nia is the daughter of music producer Teddy Riley and she also comes with her 1 year old daughter, and Dre is not the father. They are dealing with trying to make it work, in a relationship where Dre has not always practiced monogamy. And to be honest…what dude is monogamous at 23 years old????
Omarion is attempting to settle down with his girlfriend of 2 years, Apryl Jones. She was 7 months pregnant when the series began and has since delivered a healthy baby boy (at home). Her and Omarion recently purchased a new home together, but just like Scrappy and Erica (L&HH Atlanta) , Omarion’s mother does not like Apryl. She is upset that Omarion stopped taking care of her financially since he began dating Apryl. She suffers from a few illnesses and he apparently agreed to take care of her bills.
Omarion and Lil Fizz were best friends and group mates from B2K and the two have since reconciled and formed a strong friendship again. But, Fizz is dealing with extreme baby mama drama, with the mother of his beautiful son. Moniece may be the mother of his son, but she is not apart of his life. Fizz has full custody of their little boy and is raising him without her. He had a restraining order against her (which has now been dropped). And she i technically homeless and jobless. However, she is developing a sex toy line with Matt Barnes brother, and is expecting to get her life back on track and be with her son. (She also dated Shaq at some point). But, she refuses to let go of her relationship with Fizz and is extremely jealous of his girlfriend, whom he is seriously considering settling down with.
Yung Berg is the young playa who can’t seem to settle down with anyone. He is caught up with several different women this season, including rapper Hazel E. Apparently, they don’t end up together, because he had nothing nice to say about her to me! His main concern is making hits (he is a successful music producer) and sleeping with as many bad chicks as possible!
And last but, not least…the infamous Ray J, Teairra Mari and Princess Love triangle we’ve all been hearing about is quite real.
Who knew that Teairra Mari and Ray J have been a couple off and on for nearly 9 YEARS?!! Yes. It’s true. The toxic couple have been in a roller coaster of a relationship and we see why. Everyone knows that Ray J doesn’t know how to be faithful to anyone and Teairra Mari has a very volatile temperament and will pop off at any second. So, the two of them are a recipe for disaster! The problem with his new relationship is that he broke it off with Teairra and then moved his new girlfriend into his home immediately after. Teairra and his new girl, Princess Love, absolutely hate each other and have several fights this season. While Ray J wants to be civil and pursue a friendship with Teairra, the emotions are too raw for Teairra to walk away without a fight.
The other cast members include Yessi Ortiz, a DJ from Power 106, who doesn’t seem to have much of a story line. And Morgan Hardman, who is Ray J’s bestie and Professional Personal Assisitant. She despises Teairra Mari and seems to have Ray’s best interest in mind at all times.
According to my exclusive interview with the cast (coming on Monday!) they intend to “Turn Up.” this season and prove that Hollywood is the most entertaining franchise so far. You have to stay tuned to find out who may have confessed to sleeping with another cast member from L&HH Atlanta….. Uh oh!
Check out more pics from the premiere party and the after party at Supperclub L.A. where Yung Berg (Hitmaka) celebrated his birthday.
