R&B singer/producer Frank Ocean has made headlines recently for coming out about his sexuality. Fortunately, most people have been in support of his willingness to be true to himself (including CNikky!) To read his open letter to his fans click HERE. Fans were not only anticipating his album, but also his first televised performance EVER. He gave an extremley honest and moving performance of a new song called “Bad Religion” on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
‘Bad Religion’ is a haunting ballad with vulnerable lyrics about running away from heartbreak in the backseat of a taxi cab. Through the lyrics, Frank tells the cab driver to leave the meter running so that he can outrun his demons as he gives an emotional glimpse into what could be the relationship he discussed in his letter last week.
“It’s a bad religion to be in love with someone who could never love you. And I know only bad religion could have me feelin’ the way I do.”
Shortly after the performance, Frank’s album ‘Channel Orange’ jumped to #1 on Itunes.
