Exclusive Interview: Snoop Dogg & Martha Stewart Talk Their New Cooking Show On VH1!
Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart are two names that appear as an oxymoron! Snoop, is considered the God Father of Hip Hop and Martha is considered the Queen of Homemaking. So, what do these two have in common? Well, what we discovered is an honest friendship! Chris Kelley, actor and Executive Producer for CNikky.com recently sat down with the unlikely pair at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. He discovered that Martha (75 ) and Snoop (45) are more alike than different!
On the show, the two prepare meals in a his-and-hers set of adjoining kitchens — his, purple and gold in honor of the L.A. Lakers; hers, all white. They have a revolving cast of celebrity friends, that include Seth Rogen, Ice Cube, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Kelis, Robin Thicke, the N.B.A. player Chris Bosh and the model Ashley Graham and many more.
“This is the weirdest group of people ever on a stage together,” Rogen said on the show. (Despite the potluck title, the guests do not bring dishes of their own.) Stewart told us that Kelis was the best celebrity guest cook, which isn’t surprising, being that she is a chef and culinary school graduate in addition to being a singer.
“The world that we live in, everybody is going in each other’s kitchen nowadays,” Snoop Dogg said. “Before, certain people wouldn’t go into other people’s kitchens. One thing about food, it’s a great conversation piece. That’s what’s missing in a lot of the world, conversation.” – NY Times
“I didn’t know half the people” who came on the show, Martha said. “I knew who Wiz Khalifa was, but I didn’t know him. I didn’t know Fredwreck” — the show’s D.J., announcer and all-purpose hype man — “and now he’s my best friend.”
“I’ve learned a new vocabulary,” Stewart told PEOPLE at her American Made Summit in New York City. “I have a little dictionary — I might actually write the dictionary.”
“It’s all those fo’ shizzles and everything else. I think it’s hysterical,” she adds.
CNikky.com discovered that Snoop plans to eventually have his own line of spices! He told us that the thing he’s learned most from Martha is organization and preparation. And in case you’re wondering, Stewart can cook some serious soul food! She told us that she makes a mean fried chicken! But, then again she says Snoop hasn’t taken her to Roscoes Chicken and Waffles, so she can’t compare hers with theirs. We also asked her what her favorite Snoop Dogg song was. She replied.
“I’ve been known to drop it like it’s hot from time to time!”
Hilarious! Her warm energy was so infectious her and Snoop had a very natural chemistry which should make for a great television show. One thing’s for sure, there is nothing on t.v. like it!
