All of the VH1, Hit The Floor fans may be surprised to know that the captain of the Devil Girls, Jelena (played by Logan Browning) has a difficult time keeping up with those complex dance routines. In a moment of honesty, the gorgeous actress revealed to us that she often struggles with the choreography and has to remind them that she is not a professional dancer. In addition to her confessions, Logan also gave us a sneak peek into the filming of one of their new dance routines!
“Honestly, I can’t sugar coat it. It’s hard. It’s a lot of hard work. I would not trade it for the world. Every morning when I’m really really tired…when I’m dead tired is when I feel most alive. I’m like, I know I’m doing something, but for me, I’m the only person in the Devil Girl’s that was not a professional dancer before they started. So, and I feel like sometimes they forget it. And they’re like ‘Oh, let’s do this move,’ and I’m like I don’t know, it’s kind of scary. But, it’s special, it’s a special thing to be dancing with such talented veterans and people who just love what they’re doing. Regardless of how hard it is, we love what we’re doing.”
The truth is, all of the ladies on the Devil Girl’s have been dancing most of their lives. Taylour Paige (Ahsha Hayes) has been dancing since the age of 3 and was trained by none other than the great choreographer, Debbie Allen. She even spent some time as a Laker Girl before she quit the team to pursue her dreams of acting. In addition to Taylour, many of the dancers came straight from Fox’s hit show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ While on set, we even spotted one of our favorite dancer, Allison Holker on set. And we hear, her new husband, SYTYCD veteran ‘Twitch’ and their baby stop by often to see mommy in action! So, clearly there is some major talent on set.
Although Logan does an excellent job of fitting in with the season dancers, I asked her if the pressure to keep up with them can sometimes be too much.
Do You Ever Feel Like The Pressure Is Too Much?
“All the time!I can’t even front. You’ve got to imagine, you’re going through these 14 hour days and then you’re going to dance rehearsal. All that stuff weighs heavy on you. But, when you have that release then you’re like OK. I put everything in perspective. I’m pretty Blessed. This is a pretty cool job and you keep it moving.”
Nicely said Logan. Most dancers would die for an opportunity to be on a show like , Hit The Floor. We appreciate her honesty and look forward to watching the bad girl of The Los Angeles Devils take down both Ahsha and those dance routines!
Hit The Floor Airs on VH1 every Monday Night!
