Chris Brown may finally be able to take the time he needs to get his life together. Just one day after being arraigned (pictured above) and receiving a lesser misdemeanor charge after punching a man in D.C., Chris Brown is taking a surprising road today. He’s announced he’s entering rehab.
In a statement to E! News, the embattled singer’s rep says:
“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”
Chris was involved in an altercation in D.C. around 4am after the festvities for Howard’s homecoming. He allegedly punched a man, breaking his nose…after the man tried to take a picture with him. He spent the weekend in jail and plead ‘Not Guilty’ in court on Monday morning durring his arraignment. His charge was reduced from felony to misdemeanor, but the singer could still face serious jail time because he is still on probation from the Rihanna domestic violence incident. If a judge rules Chris is in violation of his probation due to him getting arrested in D.C., he faces four years in jail. Entering rehab could work in his favor with the judge. But, most importantly, he can get the help he needs. It’s obvious that he still struggles with anger issues and behind the scenes, it has been rumored that he may have a drug habit as well.
Chris posted this statement to twitter:
In order to go where u have never gone u have to be willing to go where u never been!!!! #OHB! CBE!
We are routing for Chris to take as much time as he needs to recover and find peace. Good Luck Breezy!
