Charlie Sheen is doing some Good In Hollywood. After one of the most tumultuous years of his life, he is really making an effort to turn things around and be a better person. In an act of kindness (that wasn’t meant to be publicized) Sheen donated an enourmous amount of money to our troops and their families! How much you ask?? $1 million dollars!
“[Sheen’s] support is greatly appreciated, especially from our wounded warriors and their families,” said retired Air Force Brig. Gen. John I. Pray, Jr., executive vice president of the USO.
“I would reiterate how much we appreciate his generosity,” said retired Navy Rear Admiral Frank Thorp, a spokesman for the USO.
“The way we do what we do, the way we lift the spirits of the families and troops is through generous donations from the American public.
“It is heartwarming to me to see how the American people support the troops whether it’s 25 cents or $25 or $250,000. So when you’re talking about Charlie Sheen, we appreciate a donation of this magnitude.”
It’s believed to be the biggest donation in the history of the USO, according to TMZ.
“It’s an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us,” Sheen said.
“They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I’m just happy that my work on ‘Anger Management’ can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families,” he added.
Great job Charlie. We’re so proud of you. Be sure to support Charlie’s new show Anger Management on FX.
