Beyonce’ Knowles Carter was at the UN General Assembly Hall in NYC this weekend for the live taping of her, ‘I Was Here’ video which will premiere on World Humanitarian Day (August 19).

Dressed in an Alexander McQueen bell sleeve, Beyonce first met with General Secretary Ban Ki Moon to discuss her ‘World Humanitarian Day’ Global campaign followed by a surprise meeting with the five finalists of the 2012 Do Something Awards which honors world changers who are 25 and under.

She then interviewed with CNN’s Anderson Cooper before switching into a long gorgeous white Marc Bouwer gown for the actual filming of her timeless powerhouse ballad, ‘I was here’.

Beyonce is doing her part, by asking the millions in her BeyHive and beyond to do one small act of kindness for another person in celebration of World Humanitarian Day (August 19).

From now until August 19th, you can sign up HERE and leave a message about how you plan to or already have helped someone.

On August 19th, her “I Was Here” video will be released.  And so will the millions of messages that were left on the website.

She is hoping the messages will reach 1 billion people on one day with one message of hope.  As of Friday, over 60 million people have participated.
